Brygarth Shetland Pony Stud
Shetland Ponies from the heart of Shetland |
The Brygarth Stud was established in 1987 with the purchase of two ponies by Arthur Laurenson - this has now grown to our present size of around forty ponies of all ages. We are a family run stud operated by Michael and Janet Laurenson and Mrs Carole Forteath, each of us owning our own individual ponies which make up the stud.We breed both standard and miniature types, mainly broken coloured.

Bonnie makes her arrival into a big strange new world |

All our ponies are handled regularly and are used to children, cars, other pets and noise. Besides the important requirements of good conformation and free correct movement we try to give our ponies the best possible nature and to ensure freedom from vices. Our children are able to handle all of our stock, particularly the younger ponies we have bred ourselves, with confidence and without fear. When a pony leaves our hands for another owner we hope this gives it the best possible chance of settling into it’s new home with the minimum of trauma. |
